How to Save Space in a Bathroom

Let’s face it, not all bathrooms are created equal. Some of them are spacious and sumptuously appointed. The majority, however, are often a great deal smaller than necessary. If you are looking for ways to save space in a bathroom that isn’t quite big enough, here are a few suggestions you might like to try.

First, do opt for a shower/tub combo. You simply don’t have space for a separate bathtub and shower stall in a small bath. Secondly, do make the most of the storage space you have and then, work hard to create a little extra. You have a cabinet under your sink but the space beneath is all one level and there’s a pipe in the middle. Try some of those racks that hang inside the cabinet door and are sized just right for holding shampoos, shaving cream and other personal hygiene products. You could also add one of those over-the-toilet-tank shelving units that will give you space to store towels and other items right in the bath.

Some bathrooms are too crowded for your typical hook for hanging robes and towels. Find some that hang over the bathroom door and you’ll have them when you need them and they’ll be hidden away when you don’t. If you don’t have to put the dirty laundry hamper in the bath you’ll save room. Why not let each family member have his or her own hamper in their room and make them responsible for taking their dirty clothes to the laundry area?

These are just a few basic ways to save space in a bathroom. You could redecorate and renovate to add space, but if you can make it by simply adjusting a how you decorate an existing bath; it will save you money and create a little extra space in the space you already have.
